Alba’s Favourite Things: A Toddler’s Guide to Joy, Yoghurt & Peter Rabbit

Welcome to the final post in our “Favourite Things” blog series—where I’ve sat down with each of my four children, one at a time, to ask them about their favourite things in the world, right now, in their own beautiful way.

So far, you’ve met:

Julie, our bold 8-year-old adventurer with a love of sweet machines and cloud wonderlands, Ethan, our 6-year-old inventor with a deep bond to Clawsby and an eye for design, and Seth, our affectionate 4-year-old whose answers begin and end with Daddy.

And now, we meet Alba—our three-year-old dreamer. Soft, sweet, and totally in love with Peter Rabbit. Her answers are full of heart, gentle wisdom, and that irresistible toddler charm. This little one lives entirely in the now: what she’s hugging, wearing, or tasting in the moment. And that’s exactly what makes this interview so magical.

Let’s Talk About Alba

Favourite toy?

Peter Rabbit.

Yummiest food ever?

Yoghurt and honey.

Favourite thing to wear?

My new trousers (Style icon in the making.)

Favourite smell? Yoghurt. (We’re sensing a theme!)

Favourite cuddle? Mummy. (Cue the heart melt.)

Let’s Pretend!

If you had a magic wand, what would you make?

Magic.(Short. Sweet. Powerful.)

Dream bedroom? Teddies. (All of them, please.)

If your teddy could talk, what would it say? Nothing. (A quiet, loyal friend.)

What makes you laugh really loud?

Pointing at big brother Seth. (Sibling giggles, every time.)

Adventure Time!

Favourite place to go?

To the farm.

If you had wings, where would you fly?

With butterflies.

Favourite thing to do outside? (Left unsaid—probably too busy chasing butterflies to answer!)

Adventure backpack must-haves?

Peter Rabbit, Lily Bobtail, and Benjamin Bunny. (The full squad, of course.)

Big Feelings

What do you love doing when you’re really happy?

Play with Daddy.

What helps when you’re sad? Nothing. (Sometimes it’s okay to just feel.)

What makes you say ‘I did it!’? “Big sister.” (She’s clearly a hero in Alba’s eyes.)

Just for Fun!

Favourite colour: Yellow

Favourite animal sound: Peter Rabbit. (We’re still unsure what that sounds like—but we’ll take it.)

Favourite dance move: Peppa Pig’s dance

Favourite face to make: Happy

Favourite sound: Peter Rabbit song.

Meet Alba: Summary

Alba may be the youngest, but she’s got a heart that speaks volumes. Her world is filled with soft snuggles, big feelings, and just enough fairy dust to make everyday life feel magical. What stood out the most during her interview was how present she was—every answer rooted in what she could see, taste, feel, or hear in that exact moment.

And honestly, there’s something very wise about that.

She reminded me that childhood isn’t about big achievements—it’s about tiny treasures. A bunny. A song. A cuddle with Mummy.

And with that, we wrap up our Favourite Things series. But don’t go far…

Next up: the tables turn.

In the next blog, I let all four children ask me the questions. Plus, I gave them the chance to tell the world what they think about me… which should be interesting!

Stay tuned for “What My Kids Think About Me”—coming next.
